The Feuerkogel is approx. 7 minutes by car from Post am See and the winter season runs from mid-December to the beginning of April. The cable car takes you comfortably up to the high plateau every day between 08:00 and 17:00. Thanks to a capacity of over 370 people per hour, there are hardly any waiting times, so you won't lose any valuable time. The ride on the Feuerkogel cable car is a highlight in itself: enjoy the stunning views and start your winter day with an experience that will leave you wanting more. Let the adventure begin!

Hungry? After your snowshoe adventure, a break at the Kranabethhütte is just the thing! Like the Post am See, the cosy hut belongs to Gröller Hospitality and serves hearty alpine cuisine. From the large terrace, you can enjoy a breathtaking view of the winter landscape. Simply another place that pampers body and soul.

Winter hikes with snowshoes

Whether in cosy warm boots on perfectly groomed winter hiking trails or with snowshoes through untouched snowy landscapes - the region around Lake Traunsee is a paradise for winter hikers. Whether you are travelling in the valley or venturing up the mountains, each tour has its own unique charm. However, they all have one thing in common: the marvellous views of sun-drenched snowy landscapes that almost seem to be from another world.

Culinary tip: Kranabethhütte by Opa Gröller

The Kranabethhütte has tradition and heart: family-owned, it is a real feel-good place at 1530m on the Feuerkogel. It is a comfortable ten-minute walk from the mountain station of the Feuerkogel cable car to the Kranabethhütte. In winter, the hut is located directly on the descent to the Gsoll, and the Gsollift gondola lift is just a few steps away.
